Charlotte Simons

VinyasaYin,  Yin Yang

During her travels in South-America in 2008, Charlotte was introduced to buddism, where it immediately impressed her with its wisdom. Soon after, she started to practice yoga regularly and experienced the benefits of yoga herself. While she was working as a military doctor she decided to share her yoga practice with her colleagues, so she decided to take the teacher programme at Yogateacher in Amsterdam. The ancient knowledge she gained during this course opened her eyes and made her realize that there is a lot to improve in current Western medicine if we would combine Eastern and Western medicine. Her dream is to integrate these two worlds in order to help her students and patients, seeing them from a holistic point of view and integrating body and mind. As from January 2016, Charlotte is studying acupuncture to start realising this dream. Her vinyasa flow class is dynamic and energetic but soft at the same time. During her yin classes she likes to share her anatomic knowledge within a varying theme. You are very welcome in Charlotte’s class if you’re injured, so she can help you with questions and adjusted poses. Her classes are accessible for everyone.

The Pranayama Journey

With Arno Nistal Ten Veen

03 June 2017

Typically, we only use 30 percent of our full breathing potential. Because our breath is connected to prana (or life-force), this results in a continuous lack of energy. Additionally, 70 percent of our detox processes happen through our breath.
