Get to know the people of Delight Yoga
Claudia Pradella & Eva Ugolini
Claudia studied a variety of disciplines from personal coaching, to massage and dance therapy, but her affinity and interest in Eastern philosophy, reinforced by several journeys through Asia, led her to a deeper connection to the Yoga tradition. Combining her passion for travels and yoga, Claudia invested in several years of personal practice, a few teacher trainings and various studies with great teachers and masters from different traditions, like Sri K Pattabhi Jois and TKV Desikachar.
Today Claudia is a fully committed student in the Astanga Vinyasa tradition, with a deep passion for the psychology of the yoga of Patanjali and with a strong believe in the benefits of an individual and balanced approach to yoga. She continues to travel every year to her teachers and mentors - Lino Miele and Sarah & Ty Powers, whose guidance she treasures dearly and with deep gratitude.
Since 2003 she’s been living and teaching regular yoga classes in the Netherlands. She is program director at Delight Yoga, where she holds the Astanga Mysore Program with full joy and dedication.
Eva’s passion for Yoga and Ayurveda started almost 15 years ago whilst taking a course in Ayurveda-Yoga massage in Rome, her hometown.
After experimenting with traditional Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, she went to Southern India on a few trips to deepen her yoga practice and Ayurvedic studies. Once back in Rome, she completed a two year Master in Ayurveda Massage at the Atharva Veda Center, in cooperation with the Center for Study and Research of Naturopathy and Ayurveda of New Delhi, India.
Here she met Denis Sciannimanica, who introduced her to Astanga Yoga. It was love at first sight and since then Astanga Yoga is part of her daily life, a tool for self-development and a mirror through which she can honestly look at herself every day.
This unique yoga style has changed her life and transformed her way of seeing things so greatly that she naturally felt it was time to give space to a new fresh start.
It was then in 2009, that she moved to Amsterdam and started working with Ayurveda in massage centers and yoga schools.
As she continued to deepen her yoga practice at Astanga Yoga School Amsterdam, she decided to join the 200hrs Astanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training given by Claudia Pradella and Janneke Verburg. This very important step in her yoga journey changed profoundly her way of living and her practice which she started to integrate into her daily life both as a student and a teacher.
In that period she had the opportunity and honor of practicing with great Astanga Yoga teachers such as Eddie Stern, Petri Raisanen and Govinda Kai. This has consolidated her passion and dedication for this unique yoga style as a life tool for self-development.
In 2011 she met David Swenson who had a great impact on her way of connecting to the practice and embracing it on a deeper level. Both his presence and his teaching slowly but surely unfolded a new way of sharing her love and dedication with her students for this unique yoga practice.
In one of her trips back home to Rome, she met Lino Miele. This was for Eva a very meaningful moment as she right away realized that, through him, she could touch the source of the practice the way it has been taught by Guruji for his entire life. Lino had greatly influenced her practice and teaching particularly in the areas of breath awareness, inner alignment and devotion. Since then she follows him every year as her main teacher to study and deepen her practice with.
She very happily teaches Astanga Yoga, as a way to share her love, joy and dedication to this powerful practice, which can enrich our lives with extraordinary vitality and creativity on all levels.
