Eva Ugolini & Ombretta Dettori

About Eva Ugolini:

Eva’s passion for Yoga and Ayurveda started almost 15 years ago whilst taking a course in Ayurveda-Yoga massage in Rome, her hometown.

After experimenting with traditional Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, she went to Southern India on a few trips to deepen her yoga practice and Ayurvedic studies. Once back in Rome, she completed a two year Master in Ayurveda Massage at the Atharva Veda Center, in cooperation with the Center for Study and Research of Naturopathy and Ayurveda of New Delhi, India.
Here she met Denis Sciannimanica, who introduced her to Astanga Yoga. It was love at first sight and since then Astanga Yoga is part of her daily life, a tool for self-development and a mirror through which she can honestly look at herself every day.
This unique yoga style has changed her life and transformed her way of seeing things so greatly that she naturally felt it was time to give space to a new fresh start.

It was then in 2009, that she moved to Amsterdam and started working with Ayurveda in massage centers and yoga schools.
As she continued to deepen her yoga practice at Astanga Yoga School Amsterdam, she decided to join the 200hrs Astanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training given by Claudia Pradella and Janneke Verburg. This very important step in her yoga journey changed profoundly her way of living and her practice which she started to integrate into her daily life both as a student and a teacher.

In that period she had the opportunity and honor of practicing with great Astanga Yoga teachers such as Eddie Stern, Petri Raisanen and Govinda Kai. This has consolidated her passion and dedication for this unique yoga style as a life tool for self-development.

In 2011 she met David Swenson who had a great impact on her way of connecting to the practice and embracing it on a deeper level. Both his presence and his teaching slowly but surely unfolded a new way of sharing her love and dedication with her students for this unique yoga practice.

In one of her trips back home to Rome, she met Lino Miele. This was for Eva a very meaningful moment as she right away realized that, through him, she could  touch the source of the practice the way it has been taught by Guruji for his entire life.  Lino had greatly influenced her practice and teaching particularly in the areas of breath awareness, inner alignment and devotion. Since then she follows him every year as her main teacher to study and deepen her practice with.

She very happily teaches Astanga Yoga, as a way to share her love, joy and dedication to this powerful practice, which can enrich our lives with extraordinary vitality and creativity on all levels.

About Ombretta Dettori

Ombretta is an Ayurveda Practitioner (Academy of Ayurvedic Studies) specialised in women's health, pregnancy and postpartum (Arya Ayurveda, India) and experienced in Pancakarma procedures (Yojana Ayurveda). She is also a Birth Doula (BIA Doula, Amsterdam) and an Ayurveda Postpartum Caregiver (Centre for Sacred Window Studies, California), an Ashtanga Yoga Teacher (200hrs YTT, Gregor Mahele and Monica Gauci) and a soon certified Yoga Therapist (The Yoga Therapy Institute, Amsterdam). Ombretta holds a Master Degree in Psychology and an HBO Level Degree in Medical Science. During her past corporate life she was an HR Manager and HR Business Partner, that which gives her a thorough understanding of organizational processes and dynamics.

Ombretta is happy to share her love for Yoga and Ayurveda online and in-person within the warm community of Delight Yoga where she offers Ayurvedic consultations, massages and treatments as well as Yoga Therapy individual sessions and Ashtanga Mysore classes. Ombretta is also part of the teaching team at the Delight Ayurvedic Academy and forever student. She feels fortunate to be part of the Delight Family and to be able to keep on learning and sharing with them her immense love for transformational practices that unfold in a safe space.

Yoga and Ayurveda entered her life almost at the same time. Applying slowly but steadily the principles of these two "sister sciences" into her daily life brought progressive changes that made space for what she needed the most: looking into herself and allowing "the new to settle. Since the very beginning she felt the call to visit Mysore - India – where she is committed to returning yearly to nurture her own practice under the guidance of R. Saraswathi Jois and R. Sharath Jois and many others generous and devoted teachers such as Dr. M.A. Jayashree, Sri. M.A. Narasimhan, VidwanLakshmish Bhat and Arvind Pare. Her curiosity for the therapeutic aspects of yoga exploded in 2015 when she met A.G. Mohan and Indra Mohan (Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda), both direct students of Sri. T. Krishnamacharya. Wanting to become a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist she started her study at The Yoga Therapy Institute in Amsterdam.

Gregor Mahele, Monica Gauci and Certified Ashtanga Yoga Teachers Eddie Stern and Luke Jordan represent a continued source of inspiration in approaching the yoga practice in a non-dogmatic way. In 2017 she moved to India for one year to study and practice under the guidance of exceptional Ayurveda physicians: Dr. Vijith Sasidhar, Dr. VidyaVijith, Dr. Shailesh Muli, Dr. Aiswarya Aishu, and also eventually met Dr. Amruta Athale.

She loves simple things: the smell of freshly made coffee in the morning, crisp sunrises in the winter, strolls by the sea, cooking, reading and travelling the world (the one outside and the one within) and her furry friend Mia.
