Alexandra Kool was born in The Hague in 1985. 12 years ago she moved to Amsterdam and felt right at home. She decided to start her own upholstery and called it Koolstof. After 3 years she decided that she wanted to use the skills of her hands to help people instead of furniture. That moment she went into college to become a Shiatsu therapist. Last year she became a mother of a little girl Evi. She loves being a mother and uses yoga and meditation to have some Alexandra time.
After years in corporate business in Marketing and PR, I didn’t feel the connection and passion with my job anymore. I decided to leave the corporate life and began the journey of my spiritual being. I have become much more aware. Not only have I discovered more of who I am but it also became clear what it is I want to do and what is really important to me.
Let’s start in the present, THE NOW, as that is her reality! Starting at Delight yoga brings her smiles and sparkles. These are some of her characteristics that she loves sharing with other yogis and yoginis – a smile for any situation.
During her university years, Claire always sensed that there was something more to life. After getting her law degree she traveled for 2 years, living in Rome and exploring 13 countries in Asia in search for the elusive thing she felt was missing.
One day Cloë woke up. She realized that she got so attached to a certain way of living that she had lost her way on the pursuit of her ‘personal legend’ (Palo Coelho, The Alchemist). Even though she was working in the music industry she always knew in her heart that helping others is what she is supposed to do on this earth and in this lifetime.
“All I needed was balance”, Deborah concludes for herself. “Working in the fashion industry, I was dedicated to meet peoples demand for perfection, including my own. To strive is a muscle, and mine got injured at one point. As the injury literally exposed in my body too (shin splints), I got in touch with an Osteopath and deepened my Yoga practice. This turned out to be the beginning of a beautiful path, I enjoy being on every day. Ok, no, in pure honesty, almost every day.”
Gratitude, every day again to have found my rest and myself in a state of being through yoga. While I was graduating I allowed myself, once a week, to reconnect with this feeling of being. Yoga planted the seed and by allowing this seed to grow, great things started to develop in my life. The practice of yoga guided me to the remembrance of what I had forgotten for a long time.
Coming from a spiritual background, with her mother being a Tai Chi instructor and her stepfather a Reiki master, yoga was quite the logical path to follow. But it took a while for her to discover this.

While growing up in Amsterdam and later on working in the film and advertising industry, Julia often struggled with a feeling of being too sensitive and out of touch with herself and her surroundings. When moving from the Dutch countryside to the city of Amsterdam Lianne started practicing yoga for the first time. Now seven years later, the yoga-drive is still there. Although some weeks she practices more than others, it always makes her feel good. Even after recently traveling and living in Mexico for a year, her yoga-mat was the one item that she always carried with her. One day she wishes to, in some way, combine her passion for yoga and her love for Mexico.
Malou got inspired by minimalism during her studies at Art school. She found its values not only in the artistic aspects, but above all woven into the fundamental lessons of life.

Who am I? At a young age Royce knew his heart wish was to serve all beings. Struggling with how to implement this in every day life, he found that to truly help others, he first needed to listen to his own heart. Through experience Royce learned how easy it is to outrun yourself and ended up in a burnout in 2010.
After working in the creative field for some years, Sophie felt it was time for something else. She booked a ticket to Portugal to learn more about ‘living with less’. After one year spending most of her time watching the process of nature, practising yoga and meditation, she realised this was something to hold on to. Delight Yoga could not cross her path at a better time when she returned back to the city. ‘Everything we are looking for is already there or coming our way, we just need to trust and keep our eyes open’.
