Juul Hagemeijer

Astanga LedVinyasa

When Juul Hagemeijer was just a baby, the pulsation of music already made her body move, since then she has been fascinated and inspired by the human body in all its aspects, which eventually led to a bachelor in theater dance. When she went to New York in 2010 to follow dance classes, she also went to the Jivamukti yoga studio. The teachers, the music, mantra’s and the intense yoga classes inspired her to go deeper into yoga and in 2013 she felt it was time to share her passion for movement and health beyond the stage. She finished her Vinyasa ashtanga teacher training in Thailand with Ricardo Martin and Joy Kunkanit and slowly started teaching. Acceptance, Ahimsa (non violence) and balance are important themes in Juul’s yoga classes. She is fascinated by health and she knows that practicing yoga contributes to a happy and healthy body and mind. In her classes she wants her students to experience yoga as an individual practice, discovering their own body and mind, knowing that everybody is different and unique. In that way she hopes her students to not only find personal appreciation and peace, but she also hopes they make peace outside the yogastudio.

We believe yoga is for everyone

The Pranayama Journey

With Arno Nistal Ten Veen

03 June 2017

Typically, we only use 30 percent of our full breathing potential. Because our breath is connected to prana (or life-force), this results in a continuous lack of energy. Additionally, 70 percent of our detox processes happen through our breath.
