Get to know the people of Delight Yoga

Maarten van Huijstee

Maarten is first and foremost a human being and proud father to Philip and Alexander and dedicated husband to Anna. Despite his diverse career in marketing and advertising, founding a few companies, and an extensive list of chairs on numerous boards and committees, there has always been one thing Maarten’s heart has consistently been trying to tell him..

To just sit. In silence. And simply meditate.

Together with Wessel Paternotte, Maarten is leading Delight Yoga, which resembles and functions more like a community than a company, and which encompasses several initiatives - yet all with one and the same single purpose: To spread awareness.

Delight Yoga focuses on creating spaces where people can find silence. Whether it’s through yoga and meditation practices, or simply by just being.

Or, as Maarten likes to say: “The delight of being.”

Maarten has studied yoga and meditation with masters throughout the world for over 15 years. Ranging from transcendental to more traditional Buddhist meditation. He has been teaching creative and business leaders for over the last five years.

Besides sitting in silence, Maarten loves surfing, nature and can appreciate a good documentary from time to time.

We believe yoga is for everyone

The Pranayama Journey

With Arno Nistal Ten Veen

03 June 2017

Typically, we only use 30 percent of our full breathing potential. Because our breath is connected to prana (or life-force), this results in a continuous lack of energy. Additionally, 70 percent of our detox processes happen through our breath.
