Peter Roussel


A new level of self enquiry started with spontaneous insights in hot spring in the Himalaya 1998. On returning to UK at the age of 23, Peter was gifted yoga classes that sparked fervent practice of Astanga until he completed Yoga Arts TT under Louisa Sear in 2001. Three more teacher trainings and many workshops since, Peter learned the structure and knowledge of Iyengar Yoga with Glenn Ceresoli.
Annual retreats 2003-2014 with Clive Sheridan imbued Peters practice with self enquiry & devotion. His natural love of the breath initially lead Peter into meditation and pranayama. Contact with Clive inspired a synthesis of body, mind and breath through the art of asana, pranayama and meditation that he still practises.
Peter trained in Thai massage 2003, Chavutti Thirumal 2007 & TNT bodywork 2015. Peter frequently gives adjustments.
With gravity and humour Peter guides how to balance the nervous system, to steady the mind and open the heart. Drawing on experience with: Yoga Nidra, Therapy, Scaravelli, Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Bhakti, Pranayama and meditation.
Fascinated with life, how it can be so damn hard and so damn beautiful simultaneously (!), Peter is still curious about delight, this uniquely transcendent human quality. His teaching style is a detailed call to attention, to learn to face what is and skilfully / artfully dance our unique dance in this Maha Lila (The Great Play of the Goddess)
