Sido Wijga & Maximilliaan Cohen
In 2008 out of curiosity Sido found his way to a yoga class above his working place, one of the first classes of Kristin Vikjord in Amsterdam (co-founder of Delight Yoga). This is where he discovered Astanga Vinyasa Yoga. He soon noticed the positive effect of yoga on his physical and mental condition. After exploring various yoga systems he sticked with Astanga Vinyasa as his core practice. Until in 2012 he discovered Yin Yoga and found his ideal balance in the combination of the two.
After a 10-day Vipassana retreat in India Sido decided to start a yoga teacher training with Delight in 2013 to deepen his knowledge of yoga. A great fire was ignited to explore into the Self and this was the beginning af many trainings and retreats in the field of meditation, self discovery, healing & energy work and many yoga teacher trainings (850+ hours, all at Delight Yoga).
In 2015 he found his Guru in the Advaita Zen master Mooji. It were his pointing that made him truly look within and explore into the truth of what we are. Through Mooji's teachings he also became interested in other Advaita Vedanta & Zen masters like Sri Ramana Maharshi, H.W.I. Poonja (Papaji), Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj and Alan Watts who all point in the same direction.
Sido believes yoga is not a physical practice that acquires great flexibility but an exploration into the nature of your own being and to completely become one with that. Sido is very grateful for all the teachers who have transferred their wisdom to him over the years. He is happy to share this wisdom and inviting you to explore into your own Self.
Sido is registered with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500) and often shares some live music at the end of a class.

In 2012 Max decided to quit his job and move to Manila to travel and work. Just before he left for Manila, he discovered meditation. Amazed by the positive results in his daily life, his first vinyasa yoga class soon followed. He loved moving the body in a flow and the awareness on the breath.
Exploring different types of yoga practices, he felt deeply connected to Astanga Yoga. He was not able to find a proper teacher and yoga school in Manila that offered Mysore style. He felt drawn to the Astanga Yoga School Amsterdam after online research and decided to move back to Amsterdam in 2015 to practice with Claudia Pradella and Eva Ugolini.
Several months after his return in Amsterdam, he attended his first 10 days Vipassana retreat. This led to a curiosity to explore more of yoga and he decided to study with Katiza Satya and Sahaj. After completing the Basic Teacher Training under their guidance, he started to work as a host for Delight Yoga to be fully immersed within the Delight Yoga community and to nurture a spontaneous interest to start teaching Astanga. He committed to assisting Eva in her classes and he assisted the Basic Teacher Training given by Claudia and Eva. He has also completed the 100 hour Astanga Path training with Claudia and Eva.
In 2018 he has started to study Restorative Yoga under Adelene Cheong. He discovered how essential it is in the overstimulated society we live in to practice conscious deep relaxation.
His classes are an extension of his own practice. He loves to connect personally with students and considers his classes a way to share the practice, being each other's teacher and student.
