Vera Kaye

Yin,  Restorative,  Restorative Yoga

Vera Kaye took her first yoga class in 2002, during her theatre studies, to keep the performers’ body in shape. After taking a fall on stage in 2012 and getting injured, yoga became the healthy way to explore the new physical state. She quickly realised it was working on levels beyond the physical. The intensified practice revealed patterns and habits, some not constructive (anymore) or even destructive.

Confronting as it was, sticking with it brought freedom and kindness. Freedom through leaving distractions for what they are. The kindness to smile at being a clumsy, imperfect, perfect human being.

Having been a teacher for years (physical education and sports, outdoor sports, theatre) the logical next step was to combine her love for yoga with that other old flame: teaching.
She started her training in 2015; Hatha with Dev Kapil and a Bikram style training at Forty Degrees in Amsterdam. The Tapasya Series by Kristin Campbell followed in 2016 (Yoga Moves), and in 2018 she completed her Yin and Restorative training with Skadi van Paasschen and Alison Melvin (DNYS).  Other teachers that inspire Vera are Max Strom, Doug Keller, Sarah Powers, Adelene Cheong.

Join her classes to practice being perfectly imperfect and to have a sense of humour about it!
