Both in my everyday life and in my work as a filmmaker, I look for stillness. Because – like for most of us – it simply is so hard to find. We don’t usually come across stillness, neither in ourselves nor in the world around us. When I discovered yoga, I realized that in its essence, yoga is exactly that; searching for and connecting to stillness.

Although my classes are physically quite challenging, I give much attention to gently turning our awareness inwards. We connect to the sensations in our body and breath, develop concentration and learn to carefully observe what is happening within us – in our bodies, thoughts, emotions and energy.

And from here, sometimes, something actually quiets down inside of us. It is as if we slip beneath our own surface and connect to a strangely familiar place of stillness that lies underneath. Our mind becomes still and clear; emotions more quiet; the body spacious; energy flowing freely; our hearts more open, kind and confident. We simply feel more at peace.

I studied with wonderful teachers such as Katiza Satya, Sahaj Woods, Eva Ugolini, Claudia Pradella and Shirley Woods at Delight Yoga, where I completed the Sva Dharma Teacher Training RYT200. I feel immensely grateful for yoga and for the opportunity to share my experience with others – which I do humbly and with so much joy.
