At Delight, we are dedicated to supporting you in your personal growth so you can feel the joy of being. For the third year in a row we will come together for the Delight Summer Retreat at D’Alijo Retreat Center in Portugal. Here we will offer three inspirational retreats to go deeper into your yoga practice, heart connection and meditation. You will also enjoy a communal experience with a like minded group of people who are focused on finding a deeper and more meaningful connection to themselves and life.
Why would I participate in the Delight Summer Retreats? In today's world, we are constantly bombarded with external stimuli and distractions, and it's easy to become disconnected from ourselves, our true nature, and what's truly important in life. The Delight Summer Retreat offers you the unique opportunity to take a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life, live close to nature and tune in to your innermost being. The Summer Retreats is a time to be free of distractions and focus on yourself in a beautiful and peaceful natural environment.
At the heart of the Summer Retreats is the practice and wisdom of yoga, which offers an ancient and powerful way to connect with yourself on a deep level. By practicing yoga in a retreat setting close to nature and away from the distractions of daily life, you can dive deeper into your practice and access a level of clarity and peace that might be harder to achieve otherwise.
But the Delight Summer Retreat is about much more than just yoga. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in a supportive community of like-minded individuals who are all seeking to reconnect with themselves and live from the heart. When we come together with others who are on a similar path, we can find a sense of belonging and support that can be difficult to find in the outside world. We can also learn from each other and be inspired by each other's journeys. By living close to nature in the retreats we can regain connection to the wisdom and guidance of the natural world, waking us to the wonder that is nature and that we are a part of this beautiful world not separate from it.
What can I expect from the Delight Summer Retreat? The Delight Summer Retreats are led by our senior teachers Satya and Sahaj and consists of three 10-day retreats l that are named “The Body”, “The Heart” and “The Mind”. Each retreat has its own focus bringing you a profound opportunity for growth, healing, and transformation. You can participate in one retreat or stay for the summer and do all three. Each retreat is carefully designed by Satya and Sahaj based on a lifetime of teaching experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds. The retreats are designed to support you to walk your own path towards the joy of being and to establish in you a healthy, balanced life in deep connection to your inner life and your outer world.
The Body – 8 - 17 July
The Body is for those who want to reconnect with the wisdom, joy, vitality and health of their physical body. The focus is on gentle and strong body movement (asana practice), deep connected breathing (pranayama),and purification practices (kriyas). You will explore the subtle energy body using yogic techniques from Tibet and India. Practices for purification to let go of what is not needed physically, emotionally and mentally. ,the basics of Ayurveda, basic anatomy knowledge. These practices support us to meet the inner alchemist and the inner healer within ourselves. During The Body you will prepare your body to become a sacred temple dedicated to fully awakening.
The Heart – 20- 29 July
The Heart is for those who want to open up and let go of what is holding them back from their full expression of creativity, wisdom, and vitality. Compassion, love and equanimity emerge naturally into your life by letting go of what you are not. During The Heart you will learn to listen to your inner compass, reconnect to your energy, open emotion and energetic blockages and embrace your true Self. Besides asana practice, pranayama and kriyas, the focus of this training is on the more subtle energy practices like dynamic mediations, Chi Gong and Flow Practice. During The Heart you will learn to let go and fully open yourself and connect to your innermost truth.
The Mind – 1 - 10 August
The Mind is for those who are looking to find peace, clarity and spaciousness within the nature of their mind. Our mind is usually distracted by endless thoughts jumping around like a monkey. We are spending too much time thinking, worrying and pondering but rarely find the peace in our mind that is our birthright. During The Mind you will learn the foundation of mindfulness practice and go deeper into meditation techniques that will firmly establish you in your peace, awareness and presence. You will come out as a different person, with a clearer understanding of yourself, your practice and your dharma - this retreat will literally blow your mind away.
The Teachers
All three retreats are guided by Satya Katiza and Kevin Sahaj who stand for a combined knowledge of over 60 year of studying yoga.
Satya Katiza is a yogini in heart and soul. She is An experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (ERYT500-RYT 500) and licensed to certify students at the 200 & 500 hour levels. Satya has in depth knowledge of Vipassana and Mindfulness meditation, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin and yoga as a way of life. Her friendly personality, contagious enthusiasm and warm heart inspire her students to getting the best out of themselves.
Kevin Sahaj is a dedicated yoga practitioner who has been studying and practicing yoga for 30 years. His approach to teaching is eclectic and draws from many different methods and teachings to help students align their lives towards awakening. His focus is to offer the right method for the individual according to their needs and aspirations. He is the life partner of Katiza Satya and together they are leading the Delight Yoga Teacher training and offering guidance in the spiritual direction of the school.
