New Moon in Taurus

By: Simona Schimanovich

Taurus season has started, bringing us the New Moon in Taurus on the 23rd of April. After the beautiful Super Full Moon in Libra two weeks ago, this New Moon falls in Taurus – the other zodiac sign ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and the divine feminine – gifting us even more heart-centred energy.

An Earth sign, Taurus season coincides with a time centred around blossoming as nature fully reawakens in spring. Taurus energy is all about enjoying life – this sign loves good food, beauty, money, and abundance. It is connected to the material world and our physical body, inviting us to find joy in our physical experience and live life to the fullest.

We are all in a time of limitations and fewer distractions, and the New Moon in Taurus invites us to experience a new way of being - staying present and enjoying the simple things in life.

Sitting in the sun, taking a beautiful walk in nature, drinking a slow cup of tea, enjoying the smell of flowers, moving in your body, and spending time with people you love. All of these things are so simple and cost nothing. Often we get caught up in chasing complicated goals in order to be happy. Taurus season reminds us that happiness lies in the simple things. And this moment where we are all slowing down is clearly showing us: Everything is already right here. Right now.

This Taurus New Moon gives us an opportunity to become clear on what true wealth means to us. While we often associate wealth with financial abundance, it is time to redefine it for ourselves. They say ‘Health is wealth’... or what about the abundance of time we are experiencing right now, and how precious it is? As we are moving through this time of economic instability we can gain clarity on our deeper values. Take a moment and ask yourself: what is true abundance for me? What does it mean to live a successful and wealthy life?

Taureans are said to have a tendency to be lazy... but this might be exactly what we all need right now. It seems that we have collectively become so stressed, always rushing, with endless to-do lists and feeling the constant need to be productive in order to feel worthy. This way of life has caused so much stress for ourselves and our planet. The truth is there is nothing we need to do. We are already worthy. Can we simply allow ourselves to be?

By the end of Taurus season, we will have four planets going retrograde, including Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, and Venus. This astrological moment is asking us to reflect and integrate what we have learned before we can move forwards again. May this time of slowing down teach us how to become more present, appreciate the moment and connect with the beauty of nature all around us.
