Yin Yoga Intensive for Body and Heart (50-hour training)
with Marcel van de Vis Heil and Anat Geiger
11 April - 18 April 2022
D'Alijo Retreat Center
Surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, we will go deep within ourselves and our practices to understand the basic principles of yin & yang philosophy and how these concepts affect our bodies, our physiology and our health. We will look into our own body to understand how it moves and what it needs. And we will look deep within our hearts to understand our choices, our pitfalls and our capacity to understand and to heal.
This course is intended to generate a deeply nourishing experience for body, heart and soul. High up in the mountains of Portugal we dive in the yin universe. We look into the variations in human anatomy and how this influences our practice, we learn what the poses are supposed to do for us and how every body can achieve that, regardless of age, experience or flexibility.
We will also explore chakras and their relevance for our daily lives, learning chakra meditation techniques.
This course will give you all the basics to teach yin yoga if that is what you hope to do, and to take the most out of your practice if teaching is not for you. More than anything, this week is a time for gentle self development and self care.

Yin Yoga & Yoga Philosophy (3-hour workshop)
with Anat Geiger
6 February 2022
A 3-hour masterclass in Yin & Yoga philosophy with Anat Geiger.
Of the many, many benefits of Yin Yoga, one of my favorites is the introspective mood it puts us in. We naturally become more attuned to our inner processes and find space for relaxation and connection.
Yoga philosophy can have exactly the same effect. It touches us in places we have forgotten, or neglected, and creates space for self-observation and self-improvement. Yoga philosophy is not an intellectual exercise of remote concepts but an opening and expanding of the heart.
When combined, Yin Yoga and philosophy can be a deeply nourishing, supportive and transformative experience.
Yin Yoga & Chakras (1-day workshop)
with Anat Geiger
20 March 2022
Chakras are powerful centres of energy and consciousness lodged within our brain and spinal cord. They have specific functions that affect our physical body, our emotional patterns, and our ways of thinking. Many of our struggles are generated by the repetition of patterns of behaviour directly related to the activity of these centres. Learning about them can offer deep insight into our own behaviour and our struggles and suffering, starting the process of liberation and awakening.
Our yoga practice can deeply support this process, helping to transmute theory into practice
In this workshop we will learn:
- The basic characteristics of each chakra and how they influence us both for better or for worse
- Techniques to awaken them
- How to use our practice to stimulate the chakras and the meridians they rule
