Studio News: March 2020
by Delight Yoga
As we move into March and the beginnings of spring, we can feel the days begin to brighten. Flowers start blooming and the world slowly wakes up. During this transition from winter to spring, we are still in Kapha season, and can carry the heavy wet qualities in our bodies and minds. Find your flow this month - focus on what makes you feel alive, awake, and inspired. Perhaps this could be at a Satsang with Satya, through Dynamic Meditation with Ilanit de Wilde or by learning about Ayurveda and Yoga with Julia Blohberger. Whatever the case - we look forward to greeting you at our studios this month.
Theme of the Month: The Third Noble Truth - There is an End to Suffering (3 of 12)
"Here the Buddha reassures us that true, lasting happiness and contentment are possible. I think this is why most Buddhist monks seem so content: they know that suffering need not be, and happiness can be regained. You ask how? Well, all we have to do is face our cravings and aversions. This is not as easy as it may sound, it takes focus and practice. But when we learn to observe our emotions with equanimity, even unwanted emotions like fear, guilt, shame and anger, then we are no longer enslaved by our emotions. Then, and then only, we begin to live fully and enjoy the Delight of Being.." - Wessel Paternotte
The Dutch government announced that all sports clubs in The Netherlands will be closed until April 6th 2020. Due to this situation, Delight Yoga will be closed until that date. We are currently working on alternatives for you to continue your yoga practice, as we believe that yoga and meditation are especially necessary in these times of fear and anxiety. We've created a schedule of live-streamed online yoga classes, so you can continue your yoga practice with your favourite Delight Yoga teachers at home. We are happy to offer daily live online yoga classes in all styles: Get moving with Vinyasa and Astanga, balance yourself with Hatha and Yin Yang, or slow down with Yin and Restorative Yoga. We also offer a Special Classes, Satsang, Ayurveda talks and daily Silent Sit Meditation. You can find the online yoga classes in our regular class schedule.
You can join for free until the end of March, but a donation to support our teachers in these challenging times is greatly appreciated.
As of March, we will offer a 'Silent Sit' morning meditation every workday from 8:00 - 8:45. The first 15 minutes will be guided, and the remaining 30 minutes we will be together in Silence. These meditation sessions will be guided by Sjoerd, Rolandjan, Royce, and Inge.
As of March, Annabel Mulder and Marsha Broeke will take over the evening program. We are very happy to welcome them to our regular schedule.
As of March, Hedi de Vree will be moving into another direction and will let go of most of her regular classes. She will still be guiding her Meditation class and will stay on our sublist, so you will still see her in the studio.
