Dear all,
A few months ago we sent out a survey to get your opinions on how to improve our class schedule. All results have been processed and I would like to share them with you through this blog.
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to fill out this survey. It was very helpful for us to hear what you appreciate about our schedule, but also where we can improve.
A total of 282 students participated in this survey which is a really high amount. To me, this is a sign that many students feel engaged with Delight and are eager to contribute ideas on how we can improve. I was also happy to see that most students are generally satisfied with the schedule as it is. The variety in classes and the many styles to choose from was mentioned as one of the reasons to practice yoga at Delight. But of course there is always room for improvement!
Overall conclusion
It was very interesting to us to gain more insight in how our students choose a class. It turns out that most of the students select a style first, then look at the time, the studio and the teacher. This means that - especially in Amsterdam - most people are flexible about which studio to go to for their classes. For us this means that we will coordinate the different schedules in the studios even better, so that there is a variety of classes spread over the different studios and more to choose from. The majority of the students find the variety of these styles sufficient on the schedule at the moment. We are however adding some extra Vinyasa classes in Den Haag. Also we are adding some extra Vinyasa and Yin/Restorative classes to Prinseneiland.
Days & times of the classes
We also asked if there were enough options to practice at the preferred days and times. Here the reactions were a little bit more mixed. The majority said they have enough options to choose from on the days they want to take a class. There however was also a group that said they have difficulty finding the right class on the day they would like to practice. The same goes for the times of the classes. The majority indicated that the class times were convenient to their needs, but some indicated that they couldn’t find a class at the time they wanted to practice.
Based on this results we are taking the following actions:
- We will add extra classes on Sunday morning at Prinseneiland in Amsterdam from mid October
In Den Haag we are adding 9.00 AM classes on weekdays
- Also in Den Haag we will look deeper into how we can improve the timeslots, for example by bringing more consistency in the starting times of the evening classes
Length of the classes
We also asked about the preferred length of a class. Here we saw that a class of 75 minutes is preferred by the majory, while a smaller group prefers the longer 90-minute classes and and another group prefers shorter 60-minute lessons. We will also bring more variety to the schedule when it comes to the length of our classes.
Special classes
The survey showed that many students appreciate our special classes as it gives extra inspiration to their practice. Keep an eye on our special classes page for all the inspiring extras that Delight has to offer.
Your input has really helped us to tweak our schedule and create an offering that best fits your needs. Thank you again for your cooperation!
Namaste,
Judith
