WORK WITH OCTOBER'S LUNAR CYCLE

Each month, Simona guides online New Moon and Full Moon Circles - where we come together to share and set our intentions in a powerful New Moon meditation or learn more about the cosmic energies and move through powerful practices during the Full Moon. Enjoy her overview of the upcoming month's lunar significations.

October is a big month that will bring many cosmic shifts and changes. The astrology over the next few weeks points to very dynamic and intense energies with several potent aspects.

With Mercury now retrograde, we are in a period of reflection – as altogether six planets are in retrograde. We are being asked to slow down to retrace our steps and integrate our experiences this year before we can move forwards again. Soon we will emerge and start moving forwards again rapidly, as four planets will move direct in October within a two-week timespan. There will be a strong sense of forward momentum and leaving the past behind.

According to the astrology, we are entering a period that points to a real crescendo of events and energy unfolding over the next 6 months. October will be a pivotal time, setting us up for what’s to come.

In this time it’ll be more important than ever to stay grounded in our practices, connected to our heart, and keep a positive outlook – no matter what plays out externally.

This is a powerful time of releasing the old while we’re creating a new better future for humanity.

October 6th - New Moon in Libra

As we move into October, the New Moon falls into the sign of Libra. At this time there will be a rare lineup of four cosmic bodies in the skies – including the Sun, Moon, Mars, and Mercury. This is called a stellium and will activate strong Libra energy.

Astrologically we are moving into a period of great intensity. There is a lot of tension in the skies and you might be feeling it one way or another. Several tight aspects represent conflicting needs and a time that shakes everything up. We are moving into a crescendo, bringing the themes of 2021 to a head.

As we experience the intensity of the next weeks, connect to your inner strength and support yourself as well as you can. Use your tools and practices to anchor yourself. Do the inner work and get the support you need. Increase your self-care to nurture yourself in this time that might feel shaky on many levels. Be compassionate as everyone is affected and will be feeling it on some level.

This is where the energy of Libra is bringing us much-needed balance. Libra is about partnership, fairness, justice, and collaboration. It asks - how can we find a solution, how can we come together and make this work? Connected to the heart, the sign of Libra invites us to reach out to one another and send each other love and compassion. It asks us to use the challenges of this time to open our hearts and come together as a human family.

Remember to set your intentions to harness the powerful energies of this New Moon and plant the seeds for the months ahead.

October 20th - Full Moon in Aries

At the end of Libra season, the full moon on the 20th of October falls into the fiery sign of Aries.

While the sun is in Libra - which is all about connection, relationships, and harmony - the full moon highlights its opposite sign. As the first sign of the astrological calendar, Aries is the child of the zodiac. It is connected to our individual identity, asking “What do I need? What do I want?” This full moon asks us to find a healthy middle ground - so we can be in connection with others while still honouring our own needs.

As the first fire sign, Aries symbolises the creative spark – the impulse and initiative to take action. Ruled by the planet Mars, named after the God of war, it gives us courage, drive, and energy – but can also bring out anger and aggression.

This will be intensified through a T-Square, a challenging aspect between the Moon, Mars, and Pluto – indicating a strong desire to act to bring some kind of transformation or rebirth.

Take a second breath under this Full Moon, stay close to your practices, and do your best to stay centered and patient if you feel this hot-headed fierce energy. We can choose to use the energy of this Aries Full Moon to find courage, empower ourselves, and embody being a hero in our own life.
