A life changing experience

3-weeks teacher training in Italy

This is a unique and transformative residential training, with fully accredited and inspiring teachers, which will be held at the Mandali Retreat Center, in a perfect quiet yoga site among the mountains and lakes of North Italy (the image you see is the view you will enjoy!). This training will support your integrity, commitment, dedication and knowledge of yoga and it is a special opportunity for those who are interested to deepen their own yoga journey as well as for those who feel the need and the desire to pass the message of yoga to others.

The practices are based primarily on the Astanga Vinyasa Yoga system, but the Primary Series will be explored and opened to include many other elements from the body of Hatha yoga practices. Elements of Ayurveda will also be added to include a more therapeutic and balancing effect of the practices, allowing for a broader view of yoga on all aspects of life.

During this 3-weeks Intensive Program, you will immerse yourself fully into the process of yoga, experiencing directly what is like to live and practice full-time. All aspects of yoga practice will be covered by the program, which is further divided into themes.

Katiza Satya

Wisdom, Astanga Yoga, Hatha

Katiza Satya is a yogini in heart and soul. She is giving this training already for 17 years and that you feel. She has learned from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois himself and many other great masters amongst Guru ’Papaji’ (H.W.L.Poonja), Sarah Powers, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche and Tsultrim Allione.

Satya is an experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance (ERYT500-RYT 500) and licensed to certify students at the 200- & 500-hour levels.

Kevin Sahaj

Meditation, Pranayama, Healing Yoga

Kevin Sahaj is a dedicated yoga practitioner who has been studying and practicing yoga for 30 years. His approach to teaching is eclectic and draws from many different methods and teachings to help students align their lives towards awakening.

In the mid 90’s he met Sri K Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India, whom he recognized as his Guru. Over a period of 8 years, he studied Ashtanga Yoga with him.

Victoria (Tory) Hyndman


Katiza Satya and Kevin Sahaj invited Victoria as a guest teacher to share her extensive knowledge about Ayurveda, the science of life. Victoria is a beloved yoga teacher and Ayurvedic expert at Delight Yoga in Amsterdam. She studied at The Ayurvedic Institute under the guidance of her primary teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad.

200 hour Yoga Alliance certified training

This program is registered with the American Yoga Alliance (YA), as it exceeds their standards at the 200 hours level. This will allow you to register with YA as a RYT-200 upon successful completion of this year’s study.

The Program

During this 3-weeks intensive program, you will immerse yourself fully into the process of yoga, experiencing directly what it is like to practice and live yoga. Due to it's 3-week retreat format, you can immerse yourself in your practice and studies away from the demands and distractions of your daily life.

All aspects of yoga will be covered by the program which is divided into the following 3 themes:

Week 1: Silence and Purification

We start in a unique way - with mauna (silence). You will observe silence during the first days, however, for any important question you can write it on paper and pass it to the teacher.
Mauna takes you below the surface – beyond names and forms, social, cultural or psychological boundaries. You will receive teachings and practices silently, allowing yourself to let go of critical thinking, questioning and other habits of the mind. You will be observing different patterns that may arise, and reach a deeper part of your self. Your teachers will support you in a silent way, and the teachings itself will empower you with the strength to go deeper into the process of Yoga.

The Yoga program during this week will include different cleansing techniques (kriyas), and silent Astanga Yoga practice, special pranayamas, guided and silent meditation, related philosophy sessions and reading, and a special diet (pure, healthy and detoxing vegetarian food).

Week 2: Knowledge and wisdom

After the period of silence, your mind will have reached some clarity and you will be ready for deeper learning and practice.

Knowledge is the fruit of learning, while wisdom is the fruit of practice. Your own creativity, wisdom and awareness will be stimulated greatly by this immersion in meditation, pranayama, philosophy and strong Vinyasa practice. You will also be practicing in groups and learn about Yoga methodology and the secrets of good teaching.

You will be guided towards your own creativity, wisdom, and awareness.

During this week you will also dive into the science of Ayurveda and its close relationship to yoga and the yogic lifestyle.

Week 3: Synthesis and rejoice

This final week is all about playing with the knowledge and experience gained and developing intuitive teaching. You will be learning and teaching, conquering the field known by now, and practicing until it seals. Creative and dynamic Vinyasa movements, philosophical peaks, sound and mantras, therapeutic yoga and synthesis of all are the key subjects of the last and final week.

You will be exposed to a variety of practices from various traditions, which you will learn how to safely and effectively passed on to beginners students of yoga.

The location

The Mandali Retreat Center is situated in the north of Italy, near Lago D'orta. The location was the result of an extended search. When the founders saw the view from the mountain top, it accelerated their hearts. They realised they had found the perfect place. Building this place is their dream and heartfelt intention; to create a place of quiet beauty, to learn and to relax.

How to get there?
It's easy to get to Mandali or to the Mandali Retreat Centre, here are your options:

  • We encourage the 'awareness and respect for the planet way' by (overnight) train to Milan. Tickets are cheap and easily booked via for example From Milan you can arrange a transfer to Mandali, which will only take about 60 minutes.
  • You can also fly to Malpensa International Airport (MXP) and from there you can get a transfer to Mandali, which will only take about 60 minutes.
