Leer de mensen achter Delight Yoga kennen

About Lisanne

Lisanne’s passion for yoga started in a hot and sweaty Bikram Yoga room in 2008.  The intense practice, which started as a way to blow off some steam from a stressful life in fashion design, brought her some sincerely spiritual moments that slowly resonated with the rest of her life.

In 2012 she moved to Asia and started to explore many different types of yoga and fell even more in love with the practice. She completed her first YTT with Yandara in Bali in 2013 under the loving guidance of Christopher Perkins.  When she became pregnant she decided to extend her yoga studies further by attending an in-depth Prenatal Vinyasa YTT in Bali in 2014 with Jennifer More.

Lisanne loves sharing what she has been taught and what she experiences in her own life and practice with her students in a sensitive way. Her classes are open, honest and encouraging. Sometimes challenging, never too serious. She aims to help people discover the beauty of breath combined with movement, to help bring energy all the way into their pinky toes and uncover their strength, reach a little further and then dare them to soften.

Now, back in Amsterdam, she is enthusiastically re-discovering the yoga landscape in her hometown.

About Nadia

“I believe women should empower each other.”

As an experienced doula and gentle birth warrior, Nadia encourages women through a more conscious pregnancy and childbirth. She believes that increased support and awareness should be granted to women going through the transitions of motherhood.

Making it her mission to guide women through the life changes starting from pregnancy to childbirth while making them feel supported. “I want to inspire women to invite their child into their lives.” She believes that the bond with your child starts long before birth. By inspiring and inviting mothers to start creating that bond during pregnancy, the child will feel loved and welcomed which can help in the gently birthing process.

After being part of the motherhood circles, Nadia found similarities in her way of work. The motherhood circles are a sacred place where experiences and lessons are shared. “You are invited to set your emotions free and truly be yourself. It has everything to do with holding space. The same thing I try to do in the birthing space as a doula.”

She feels that it is important to share knowledge and to invest in a much-needed support system, a place or person that invites you to be yourself, because through sharing knowledge women truly empower each other.

When feelings of insecurity get the better hand, her advice is to take a breath, go within and remember that this moment will pass. Instead of letting it control your emotions, “be thankful for the message and let it be. Just look at it with compassion and find the question or lesson that it is giving you.” This too shall pass.

The lesson that Nadia would have given her younger self is that throughout life, relationships and jobs, to always stay true to herself. “Only when you feel the freedom to be yourself, you can shine your light, find flow and make the world a more interesting and loving place.”
