Kriyas and Pranayama Basics Course - Online

This course provides a solid foundation that will help you build up a routine to integrate Kriyas and Pranayama practice in your daily life. Especially now we are living in challenging and demanding times, the breath will truly help to release physical, emotional, mental and energetic tension and blockages to become and stay centred and clear.

This course offers a theoretical and practical way to learn the combination of these two powerful Energetical Practices. Both the Kriyas and Pranayama purify the body and mind which ultimately open the pathways of the body, the nadis, the energy body, the mind, and the heart.

The Kriyas are purification practices to make the body clean from the inside, the body is our first tool in experiencing how everything is connected. When the body is clean, it becomes sensitive and clarity occurs. These purification practices are referred to as the Shat Kriyas in the ancient texts of the Hatha Yoga. We will discuss and experience some of these 6 types of kriyas that are practised for an ultimate purification of body and mind.

When all impurities are removed, the regular practice of simple Pranayama (breathing techniques) stabilises further and centres the body and mind. The breath flowing freely provides access to our inner world and can lead to a deeper state of meditation. Our body then feeds on vital energy (Prana): the digestive system and lungs are stimulated and cleansed, the mind becomes clear and calm, the nervous system strengthened. You will feel vital, awake and content as your body’s energy system is balanced.

This course is for you if you are eager to learn, understand and experience the benefits of a regulated Breath. If you have always wanted to start a Pranayama practice, you will be guided throughout this process. Everyone in any part of the world can participate on this online course, the distance will not matter. It is a beginner’s course. All levels are welcome. The course price includes a syllabus.


Online format

In the online format, Marilou will guide you through the online application ‘Zoom’. Zoom is a live streaming platform with many interactive features - it provides a shared space for students, teachers, and assistants. Delight Yoga has been using Zoom to organise live-streamed classes, workshops, and training days and we have had very positive experiences with it. 

Zoom allows you to participate in the training from home, but you can ask questions and connect with teachers and other students as if you were in the same physical location.
