Yoga & Ayurveda (50 hrs)

Yoga & Ayurveda are really impossible to bring apart, they are inseparable brother and sister, they are the union of the Universal Wisdom. The union of these two sciences brings forth a system of healing for physical, mental and spiritual health and happiness. The best way of learning and integrating anything into our life is through direct experience.

In this program on Yoga & Ayurveda you will experience how we are all made up out of nature's five great elements, the Pancha maha bhutas (either, air, fire water and earth) and how to live according to those laws of nature, enabling us to meet our individual fullest potential. 

Though we are all made up out of the exact same elements, we each contain different amounts of each element, thereby each one of us being a unique expression of nature. Due to this fact, we all need different foods, herbs, healing remedies, lifestyles and yoga practices. 

The focus of this course is on how to apply the tools offered by Ayurveda for both preventative and healing purposes for mind, body and spirit through yoga asana, meditation, pranayama, mudra (specific hand gestures which active different energies in the physical and mental bodies), mantra (energetic sounds) and marma (energetic points on the body). 

This training is designed for experienced yoga practitioners and/or yoga teachers who wish to incorporate the foundations of Ayurveda into their yoga practice and teaching. 


Program Outline

  • Discovering how to recognize your individual born nature (Prakruti)

  • Discover how to recognize which dosha is out of balance in the physical and/or mental body (Vikruti)

  • Learning techniques in the asana practice to rebalance the dosha that is increased

  • Learning what type of foods and home remedies will support your born nature and any present imbalance

  • Learning how to recognize which constitution and possible imbalance is present in your students, friends, family and colleagues which will help you develop compassion and understanding of others and how to deal with them.

Extra hours

Plan some extra time each day to incorporate and apply the suggested morning routine into your daily life, plus a 30-minute sit to reflect on the day from the Ayurvedic perspective in order to understand, digest and absorb the new insights. 

These 50 hours are part of the Delight Yoga Advanced Teacher Training, however, this is not in itself a teacher training program.


At least 1 year of regular yoga practice (minimum three times per week asana practice). 

This training is designed for regular yoga practitioners and/or yoga teachers who wish to incorporate the foundations of Ayurveda into their yoga practice and teaching. 


Please read one of the following books in preparation for this workshop: 

"A Pukka Life" by Sebastian Pole or "The Science of Self-Healing" by dr. Vasant Lad
