Yogi Facilitator Training: Applied Psychology for Yogis - Online

The field of contemporary yoga and mindfulness-based practices invites students into the psychology of their Being. Arguably, contemporary yogis need the competence of applied psychology, in which we learn a lot about how our brain works and about the psychology of the psyche.

What you will learn:

This workshop dives into the meeting point between western scientific language and eastern experimental-based practices. This workshop is for yoga teachers who want to understand more of the underlying mechanisms at play when we practise meditative practices, such as yoga, meditation, and pranayama. You will also learn the efficacy of these practices on our neurobiology, thinking, and behaviour. How does it work? And when does it not work?

 

Topics we will cover:

  • Basic Neuropsychology: autonomic activation and the function of the stress response
  • The Polyvagal theory and what you need to know about it
  • Brain structures and their functions
  • The model of Being, and what to expect from the practices

Requirement

Having followed Level 1 of the YFT. This workshop is for yoga teachers wanting to learn more about mental emotional wellbeing or working in specific projects, eg. teaching prison yoga or in clinical settings​.

 

Online Format

This workshop will be offered as a nurturing home-based retreat. After this weekend, you will have access to the pre-recorded practices and course material for an additional 30 days.

 

The daily schedule for the training will include live online sessions (also in groups/pairs) as well as recordings. The formal pre-recorded practices (video, audio, lectures) will be offered for you to access in your own time/rhythm (for example, early mornings) on the training days.

 

Yogi Facilitator Training

This workshop is part of Level 2 of the Yogi Facilitator training by Kristin, which is designed for yoga teachers wanting to learn more about mental emotional wellbeing or working in specific projects. Requirement for joining Level 2 is having followed Level 1 of the Yogi Facilitator Training. The (fully offered online) Yogi Facilitator Training merges contemporary clinical knowledge of mental and emotional health and practices with the wisdom traditions of yoga and dharma teachings.

 

It juxtaposes the mindfulness practices from the dharma path seamlessly with the most updated empirical knowledge from applied psychology. We all know Buddha was the first cognitive therapist, however, here you will get to experience the connecting of the dots in its fullness. If you are (becoming) a yoga teacher, we recommend also following the other parts of this fully online program.

About Kristin

Kristin believes in empowering emotional wellbeing for integrated health to lead a wondrous life and provides services through her online practice. She is a trained clinical psychologist, yoga therapist & mindfulness facilitator, and is striving for a global paradigm shift of empowerment to mental health through her work. Kristin is a co-founder of Delight Yoga, the biggest yoga school in Europe, and the Arctic Yoga Conference. She published her book 'Inner Spark' in September 2019, and lives in Bodø, Norway.
