This retreat will give you a deep plunge into Ayurvedic wisdom and experience how to integrate this wisdom into your daily life and yoga practice.
Ayurveda, which can be translated into “understanding life”, “the art of living wisely” or “the science/wisdom of life”, gives you a lens to look at all parts of your life in a new way.
It explains how as humans we are made up out of the same ingredients, but with its own unique blend to make us into one unique individual.
Being a unique expression of nature, we learn why we have certain behavior patterns, react differently emotionally in situations, and digest different foods easier than others.
Ayurveda uses all methods to rebalance such as the use of particular foods, herbs, colors, attitudes, yoga, pranayama and meditation.
You will discover your own unique nature, while also tapping into the awareness of oneness which we all are, beyond the physical and mental body. We will spend these days in the retreat learning hands-on tools for daily self care according to your Ayurvedic type (dosha) and present balance as well as food tips for self healing and for your family.
The retreat will give you daily group sessions of guided yoga and pranayama (working with the breath to experience the no-mind state/higher levels of consciousness), meditation and noble silence to reflect along with Ayurvedic talks to give you a new way of understanding yourself and life. You will go home with a heightened sense of awareness, a new perspective and inspiration for your daily life back home.

Location: Mandali Retreat Center
This retreat is hosted at the Mandali Retreat Center. Mandali is a peaceful retreat centre, established on a mountaintop, overlooking lago d’Orta in Italy. It is an open space dedicated to spiritual practice and personal transformation. Mandali provides an optimal environment to exchange and receive teachings, wisdom and guidance from some of the world’s most inspiring teachers.
The location is a result of an extended search. When the founders saw the view from the mountain top, it accelerated their hearts. They realised they had found the perfect place. Building this place is their dream and heartfelt intention; to create a place of quiet beauty, to learn and to relax.

It's architecture is a faithful reflection of the ancient villages by which it is surrounded. The centre breathes a soothing, serene atmosphere and offers its guests a guiding hand. You will fall in love with nature, find balance in the elements and feel harmony with your true self.

Mandali is set 850 meters above sea level, overlooking lago d’ Orta in Italy, the site faces southeast, enjoying the morning sun rising over the Mottarone mountain range across the lake. The classic feng shui dream of enjoying the inspiration of the sun, lake, and valley in front of you, whilst being supported and protected by the buildings, trees, and gardens behind is a functioning reality at Mandali. If you decide to go off of the retreat center to feel into the local villages and cuisine, there is much to take in and to taste.
How to get there?
It's easy to get at Mandali or at the Mandali Retreat Centre; you fly to Malpensa International Airport (MXP) and from there you can get a transfer to Mandali, which will only take about 60 minutes.

During this retreat, you will enjoy three daily delicious vegetarian meals, which will consist of a light breakfast of fruit and tea, a brunch, and dinner.
Things to do (optional)
During your free time, you can enjoy your own rhythm and choose what suits you best. Relax in your room, take a forest walk, enjoy the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, or take a swim in the heated indoor swimming pool.
A good massage can feel wonderful, help integrate all level of experience, and liberate your body from the tightness and holdings that keep pulling you backwards.
There are various types of massages available at Mandali’s Body Care Center, such as Lomi Lomi (traditional Hawaiian), deep tissue massage, cranial sacral, and intuitive bodywork.
Massage sessions can be booked at an additional cost. Full information on the massage type and therapist of your choice can be obtained at the reception.

About Victoria Hyndman
In a light-spirited manner yet sticking to the authentic teachings of yoga, Victoria uses the wisdom of Ayurveda in her yoga classes for students to experience spiritual access through physical practice.
Canadian-born, Amsterdam raised and moved to Los Angeles in 1997 to discover the world of yoga and Ayurveda, Victoria moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2005 to study at The Ayurvedic Institute under the guidance of her primary teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad.
She also experienced her first pregnancy there during the last few months of her Ayurvedic studies with dr. Lad, who gave her golden tips on pregnancy, birthing and post-natal healing and rejuvenation, which Victoria passionately passes on to all women in her women’s workshops.
Now, back in Amsterdam with her two children, Victoria teaches various classes, all that are challenging as they are nourishing, strengthening yet softening, bringing the students to a place within themselves where they have direct experience of finding both strength and softness, where all opposites become balanced.
