The Mind Retreat
With Katiza Satya & Kevin Sahaj
The Mind Retreat
1 November - 10 November 2019, Mandali, Italy
An unique opportunity to dive within the Infinite Universe of the Mind, guided by Katiza Satya & Kevin Sahaj in a 10 days retreat.
This Retreat is a silent 10 days training where we’ll investigate the Mind as true scientist within our own laboratory. The philosophical ground of practice will be based in non-dual practices, Buddhism and Tantra.
Yoga -as taught in the past- was always taught one-on-one. The teacher would assess the needs, aspirations and constitution of the student and give him/her the personal practice that would connect them to their innermost truth. This innermost truth of the individual is unique to that person and each person’s yoga practice will ultimately be an individual practice guided closely by authentic teachers and teachings.
The Mind retreat will offer you the opportunity to deepen into the yoga that is most suited to your individual needs, and will give you the foundational ground, connection and steadiness to become a living yogi or yogini.
During this retreat Satya and Sahaj will draw from several wisdom traditions to offer you 10 days of practices ranging from asana, pranayama, meditation, healing, Tantra to Buddhism, self-inquiry and dharma.
This retreat presents the subtlest part of the practices, where we investigate the Mind following as basis non-dual practices, Buddhism and Tantra. We will take the foundation of mindfulness practice and go deeper into meditation techniques that will firmly establish you in your awareness and presence.
This is the root and beginning of seeing the greater purpose that is guiding our lives. We become aware that our lives as yoga teachers are a gift of service towards others. This goes beyond our own self-interest. Deep seated unconscious emotional patterns and areas of unclarity in the mind must be illuminated and purified to go into the real next level of awakening. Clearing the energy body’s chakras and pathways to open the mind will create the conditions for deep self-inquiry in this retreat.
So this period is for ripening and going deeper. All practices before this are merely a preparation, a cleaning of the temple of body and mind to make space for the opening of our true nature. Here the true yogi starts to be born.
Through the deep immersion in the teachings of these very gifted and experienced teachers, in this very special place on the Orta Lake in Italy, you will come out as a different person, with a clearer understanding of yourself, your practice and your dharma - this retreat will literally open your heart and blow your mind away.

Location: Mandali Retreat Center
This retreat is hosted at the Mandali Retreat Center. Mandali is a peaceful retreat centre, established on a mountain top, overlooking Lago d’Orta in Italy. It is an open space dedicated to spiritual practice and personal transformation. Mandali provides an optimal environment to exchange and receive teachings, wisdom and guidance from some of the world’s most inspiring teachers.
The location is a result of an extended search. When the founders saw the view from the mountain top, it accelerated their hearts. They realised they had found the perfect place. Building this place is their dream and heartfelt intention; to create a place of quiet beauty, to learn and to relax.
They builded this place from scratch, you can have a look at the making of video here (very impressive!). It's architecture is a faithful reflection of the ancient villages by which it is surrounded. The centre breathes a soothing, serene atmosphere and offers its guests a guiding hand. You will fall in love with nature, find balance in the elements and feel harmony with your true self.
"We believe that to spend time in retreat is a necessity for anyone interested in a balanced way of living. We look forward to welcoming you at Mandali." - The Mandali team
Mandali is set 850 meters above sea level, overlooking Lago d’Orta in Italy. The site faces southeast, enjoying the morning sun rising over the Mottarone mountain range across the lake. The classic feng shui dream of enjoying the inspiration of the sun, lake, and valley in front of you, whilst being supported and protected by the buildings, trees, and gardens behind is a functioning reality at Mandali. If you decide to leave the retreat center to feel into the local villages and cuisine, there is much to take in and to taste.
How to get there?
It's easy to get at Mandali or at the Mandali Retreat Centre; you fly to Malpensa International Airport (MXP) and from there you can get a transfer to Mandali, which will only take about 60 minutes. Mandali will arrange shared transportation to/from the retreat center as much as possible.
The Mind Retreat starts on 1 and finishes on 10 November 2019. Plan to arrive on 1 November around 12:00-14.00, so to be ready around 16:00 to start the retreat. Staying connected with the teachings and the Sangha
Twice a year, we organise Sva Dharma Practice & Sangha days for participants of current or previous The Heart Retreat and The Mind Retreat. The participants can prepare, explore or refresh the practices conveyed during the retreats under the guidance of Satya. These days serve also to reconnect with other people who walk a similar path, so we can form a spiritual community (called Sangha) together in which we support each other and help another grow.
