This Ayurvedic Cooking workshop is a beautiful way to get familiar with the basics of Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition. In this 3-day workshop, you will learn about nutrition and its benefits through an Ayurvedic lens, by experiencing both theory and practice in a hands-on cooking day.

Program Outline

This powerful program is designed to introduce you to the principles of Ayurvedic nutrition, giving practical tips on how to apply this in daily life creating peace and harmony in the body and mind.

During this 3-day workshop, we will dive into the basic principles of Ayurvedic nutrition and how to prepare a typical Ayurvedic meal. Ayurvedic cooking and eating are about how to digest a meal in an optimal way. You will learn about the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and how these relate to constitution. We will play with quality pairs - such as cold-warm, oily-dry, heavy-light - in relation to ourselves, environment and foods.

In Ayurveda, healthy food is considered a medicine and it pleases the senses as well. We will explore the six different tastes and their effects, while at the same time looking into the importance of our digestive fire or ‘agni’.
In this workshop, we will bring theory into practice during a cooking day in Amsterdam.

This 3-day Ayurvedic Cooking workshop is a slow-paced, informative workshop, designed to take a dive into the world of Ayurvedic nutrition based on the ancient knowledge and traditions and preparing you for other Ayurveda courses within Delight Yoga, such as the extensive Nutrition Courses (60 hrs), Foundation on Ayurveda (50 hrs) Exploring Ayurveda (3 days) or the 4-year Bachelor’s level Ayurveda Practitioner Studies.
