With Megan Riley

This workshop has taken place already, please visit our Workshop Page for a more recent offering of workshops and trainings.
In this class, we explore the Ashtanga poses from the elusive second half of the primary sequence, working on the transitions, vinyasa count, and pacing for the poses. Also, we will study the important connections from posture to posture that build the necessary lift and control needed to unlock the subtlety of these poses.
Depending on your current practice, some of these postures may be new to you or you’ve been practising them and want to take them further.
For example, we will:
-Investigate key postures from Navasana to Setu Bandhasana
-Examine the overall sequence, how the postures connect and build in depth and bandha, or “pelvic lock,” control
-Work on the entrance and exit from the arm balances.
This course requires some working knowledge of the first half of the primary series. This is best suited for students who have attended Astanga led classes or have a Mysore practice.
