During this special evening, James Fox, Founder and Director of the Prison Yoga Project, will give a talk about his 15 years of experience teaching yoga and mindfulness as therapeutic practices for addressing the common psycho-physiological issues of prisoners (in the U.S).
James will discuss his initiative to develop a specific yoga program for incarcerated military veterans to help them to address trauma related, dissociative effects of their active duty. And he will speak of the opportunity karma yoga offers for healing one’s own personal issues and offer a guided mindfulness practice he regularly uses in his teaching.

James Fox is the founder and director of the Prison Yoga Project, an organization dedicated to establishing yoga and mindfulness programs in prisons and rehabilitation centers worldwide. Since 2002, he has been teaching yoga and meditation to prisoners at San Quentin Prison as well as other California State prisons.
