Mindfulness simply means: being aware of the present moment. Often we can understand it more clearly by it’s opposite: the automatic pilot. When you do things out of habit, you are not in the present moment, not fully aware, but lost in the past or in the future. Mindfulness is about the art of staying present in the here and now. It learns you how to live more intensely and with more awareness.
The training teaches you to be aware of the body, your thoughts and feelings through different sorts of meditations and excercises. You will learn to increase your mental resilience so you can cope with difficult or stressful moments with more ease. Mindfulness can teach you:
- How to be less caught in thoughts
- To experience more calm & peace in your life
- Body awareness
- Greater freedom of choice
- Recognizing emotions and how to respond to them in a relaxed manner
- How to deal with feeling down
- How to deal with stress
- How to improve your focus & concentration
- How to sleep better
Everybody is welcome if you are motivated to practice daily with mindfulness. Before the training starts, there is a one on one meeting with the teacher to get to know eachother and to ask all your questions.
There will also be a long 4-hour Mindfulness Meditation session on Sunday 17th March, 9:00-13:00 at Weteringschans. This is part of your Mindfulness Training, so please save the date.
We meet weekly, and to get most out of the training, the will and motivation to practice daily is important. It will take 30 to 60 minutes every day. To help you with the practice you will receive a workbook and audiofiles for you own use.
