Motherheart Circle: Baby Blessing Ceremony
With Alixe van Ogtrop
23 May 2020 Go to schedule
For centuries ancient wisdom & traditions have been honoured and passed down by generations. The cycles of the moon, the transitioning of seasons and the cycles of (re)birth and passing on are still honored today and remain a crucial rite of passage.
A rite of passage simply means stepping from one role into a new one.
One of the biggest rites of passages is birth. We would like to bring the rites of passage ceremonies into this new day and age. Hence, we would like to invite you to celebrate the first rite of passage of your little one through a Baby Blessing Ceremony.
What better moment then to honour, create space and spend time, welcoming this new being earthside. During the blessing ceremony, we will guide you through ancient wisdom and traditions by incorporating nature’s elements. The elements are used to bless, cleanse, ground and warm the baby.
Through ritual and song, the parents will be guided in this baby blessing ceremony to support the little one on their journey through life.
What can you expect?
- You will enter a safe and sacred space through a ceremonial welcome
- You will get to acknowledge the wonder, blessing, and celebration of your little one’s arrival
- You will create a unique, special and deep bond with your little one
- You will support your little one to choose their own course on their journey through life
- You will be guided to incorporate the elements (water, fire, earth & wind)
- You will be given the opportunity to connect with other parents
This particular ceremony is geared towards babies and inviting them to “be” here on earth. We would, therefore, like to invite all parents of children under 1 year of age to participate and join our ceremony.
We also ask you to bring a special item to the ceremony. This unique item will be charged and filled with memories of the day that you can then take home with you.
With limited space available, we kindly ask you to inform us beforehand whether both parents will be joining the ceremony. We can imagine that you’d both like to be part of this unique and special moment, so just drop us an email at email@example.com
In motherhood, life, and during ceremonies with babies, we are faced with unexpected moments. Please enter the ceremony letting go of expectations and realize that all is okay and welcome. This is a judgment-free zone where you don’t have to be self-conscious or how your baby will “behave”. Life is beautiful, with all its messiness and uncalculated moments.
Let's build this new future together, celebrate the new generation, and honour the little miracle you are holding in your arms.
The ceremony will be guided by Alixe, mother of a 10-month-old little girl, who will teach us about the ancient ceremonies and guide us on this unique and special ceremony.

About Alixe van Ogtrop
Alixe always knew she wanted to change the world. Starting in corporate life she discovered that the real change can only be made when the change is made within. After a PTSD Alixe went on her own healing journey, when reconnecting with her True Self and coming back home (within) she could not, not start to guide other people back to their own Inner Being.
