Restorative & Pranayama Workshop
With Peter Roussel
25 April 2020 Go to schedule
In this workshop, we will explore the sweetness of the breath. Building up awareness of different patterns of breath called Pranayama’s. To restore balance is essential. It is a prerequisite to building up vitality, concentration and self-knowledge. Using time and breath to feel deeper we can uncover aspects of tension in our body, nervous system and heart centre.
This longer workshop will be very relaxing, using detailed techniques to progressively release the base of the body, the spine, the shoulders, open the lungs and steady the mind we prepare for yogic sitting and deep breathing. Taking our time to neutralise tension will stabilise the Nadi’s (subtle energy channels) making us ready for the science of moving the life force energy a.k.a. Pranayama.
The later part of the workshop is devoted to linking the mind to the breath. This is an advanced practice that has profound effects that words cannot touch. Two main types of Pranayama will be introduced: fast and slow; Fire Breath (Rhythmic Abdominal) builds charge and slow steady rhythms like Ujjaiyi and Nadi Shodana (alternate nostril breathing) bring deeper circulation and balance.
This gentle workshop will include long relaxations and is suitable for those in recovery from addiction and burn out as well as students that wish to go to the next level. This magical science will transform your sense of being on a subtle level and reconnect you with the lightness of being.
