With Peter Roussel

This workshop has taken place already, please visit our Workshop Page for a more recent offering of workshops and trainings.
Sun Salutations are at the core of Vinyasa. There are different classical sequences. All of them aimed at becoming present, building heat for transformation and creating connection between upper and lower body. They are a supremely compact practice that covers many of the most significant aspects of asana.
Key sequences (from different traditions) will be shared in this three hours workshop by Peter Roussel. We will see the similarities and over lap in the various versions of 'Surya Namaskar’ (The Sun Salute). There will be detailed introduction to the breath that creates the vital bridge between intention and action. There will be modifications for those new to the practice. Peter will share his in-depth knowledge of anatomy and alignment to make the sequence flow better and avoid common complications. This will build up slowly but has some fire power in the middle as we explore putting together the finer details of breath, movement and focus in flow. This foundational workshop offers insights to new and expereinced practitioners into this magic and sometimes devotional practice of Sun Salutations.

About Peter Roussel
A new level of self enquiry started with spontaneous insights in hot spring in the Himalaya 1998. On returning to UK at the age of 23, Peter was gifted yoga classes that sparked fervent practice of Astanga until he completed Yoga Arts TT under Louisa Sear in 2001. Three more teacher trainings and many workshops since, Peter learned the structure and knowledge of Iyengar Yoga with Glenn Ceresoli.
