Pranayama classes offer a set of simple breathing techniques which help to cleanse and stabilizing body and mind.
With a regular Pranayama practice, more vital energy is made available for the body and mind. The breath begins to flow more freely, providing access to deeper states of meditation. The digestive system and lungs are stimulated and cleansed, the mind becomes clear and calm, the nervous system strengthened. You will feel vital, awake and content as your body's energy system is balanced.
The practice of Pranayama is highly recommended in addition to a regular Yoga Asana (postures) practice, in any style of yoga. It will help you deepen your awareness of the breath and the body, which will then benefit your yoga practice.
This Pranayama class offers a simple and safe set of practices, combining Kriyas (cleansing techniques) with specific Pranayama techniques, concentration, meditation and mantra, all based on the teachings of Paul Dallaghan and of Pranayama Master Sri O.P. Tiwari, head of the Kaivalyadham Research Institute near Mumbai, India.
This class is also offered once a month on New Moon Days in the early morning as an alternative practice for regular Astanga practitioners.
All levels are welcome.
