Restorative Yoga uses props, like blocks and bolsters, to support you in different postures and help the body to relax and let go completely. The class is calm, grounding and restoring. It is highly suitable if you are healing from an injury, dealing with stress or burnout or want to relax deeply.
Poses will be held for a longer period of time, somewhere between 5 to 20 minutes each. In the poses, we are not aiming to stretch or strengthen the body, the emphasis is on effortlessness and relaxation. Poses will be only seated and laying down.
Mindfulness & Restorative
This class integrates Restorative Yoga with gentle movement, breathwork, and guided meditation. Restorative postures are supported with props and held for several minutes at a time, which facilitates deep levels of relaxation. In addition to being an effective complement to more active styles of yoga or sports, this style of yoga can be a powerful healing tool for those experiencing an acute or chronic injury, illness, or physical or emotional stress. Tools from mindfulness meditation will be emphasized throughout, cultivating present-moment awareness and self-compassion.
