In a Yin Yoga class postures are held for 3-5 minutes, while the muscles are relaxed so that the connective tissue in the body is stimulated. Yin Yoga combines the knowledge of Hatha Yoga with Chinese Medicine's meridians, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques. Yin Yoga has a positive effect on your organs, immune system, muscles and joints.
Yin Yoga combines aspects of Hatha Yoga, the concept of the meridians in Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques. As a practice, yin yoga is designed to improve the flow of chi (the vital energy of the body) through the energetic channels (or meridians) to improve overall emotional well-being, immunity, and organ health.
Mindfulness & Yin
Learn how to develop an unconditional friendship with your body and mind by practising mindfulness and awareness in your yoga and sitting practice. How can we use our life as a path of awakening? By relaxing the struggle for perfection and meeting ourselves and our world ‘as it is’. We all have natural wakefulness and inherent goodness that we can uncover.
Yin & Yang
When combined with a more active and physical sequence, the practice is then known as Yin Yang yoga. Traditionally, yin and yang are thought of as complementary, not opposite. Thus, balancing the active and relaxing components of your practice can be a good way to create balance and harmony.
In this class, we aim to create an oasis of stillness. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a Yin Yoga practice with minimal use of music and words. The class will be guided with simple instructions for the poses, so you can dive deeper into your own practice, listening to what's going on inside of you without external distractions.
Participating in Experienced Yin requires previous knowledge of the principal Yin Yoga postures - for those who have experience with Yin Yoga and would like to deepen their practice.
These 3 hour Yin Yoga masterclasses will give you the opportunity to explore your inner world. You'll be able to dive deep, as we stay longer in a pose, usually about 3-5 minutes.
Yin Yoga is a practice that brings together the 3 bodies: the physical, astral (feelings, emotions) and mental (thoughts).
De-stress, Recover and Relax
In this workshop, you’ll experience the effect of Yin related yoga on your body in a long session – using a tennis ball. This will give you some insights and techniques to help you to become more flexible and you’ll learn to release tension and pain.
