Yin

“"Yoga is the practice of quieting the mind."”

~Patanjali

Yin Yoga is a calm yoga style to create space and relaxation

In a Yin Yoga class seated and lying down postures are held for 3-5 minutes. While the muscles are relaxed, the connective tissue in the body is stimulated by the specific poses. Yin Yoga combines the knowledge of Hatha Yoga with Chinese Medicine's meridians, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques. Yin Yoga has a positive effect on the organs, immune system, muscles and joints.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga combines aspects of Hatha Yoga, the concept of the meridians in Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy and Buddhist meditation techniques. As a practice, yin yoga is designed to improve the flow of chi (the vital energy of the body) through the energetic channels (or meridians) to improve overall emotional well-being, immunity and organ health.

Mindfulness & Yin

Learn how to develop an unconditional friendship with your body and mind by practising mindfulness and awareness in your yoga and meditation practice. How can we use our life as a path of awakening? By relaxing the struggle for perfection and meeting ourselves and our world ‘as it is’. We all have natural wakefulness and inherent goodness that we can uncover.

Yin & Yang

When combined with a more active and physical sequence, the practice is then known as Yin Yang yoga. This class consists out of 50% calm poses and 50% active poses. Traditionally, yin and yang are thought of as complementary, not opposite. Thus, balancing the active and relaxing components of your practice can be a good way to create balance and harmony.

Yin Experienced

In this class, we aim to create an oasis of stillness. You will have the opportunity to enjoy a Yin Yoga practice with minimal use of music and words. The class will be guided with simple instructions for the poses, so you can dive deeper into your own practice, listening to what's going on inside of you without external distractions. Participating in the Yin Experienced class requires previous knowledge of the principal Yin Yoga postures - for those who have experience with Yin Yoga and would like to deepen their practice.

Yin Yoga & Yoga Philosophy (3-hour workshop)

With Anat Geiger

Starting on 06 February 2022

A 3-hour Masterclass in Yin & Yoga Philosophy with Anat Geiger   Of the many, many benefits of Yin Yoga, one of my favorites is the introspective mood it puts us in. We naturally become more attuned to our inner processes and find space for relaxation and connection.   Yoga philosophy can have exactly the same effect. It touches us in places we have forgotten, or neglected, and creates space for self-observation and self-improvement. Yoga philosophy is not an intellectual exercise of remote concepts but an opening and expanding of the heart.    When combined, Yin Yoga and philosophy can be a deeply nourishing, supportive and transformative experience.

Yin Yoga & Chakras (1-day workshop)

With Anat Geiger

Starting on 20 March 2022

Chakras are powerful centres of energy and consciousness lodged within our brain and spinal cord. They have specific functions that affect our physical body, our emotional patterns, and our ways of thinking. Many of our struggles are generated by the repetition of patterns of behaviour directly related to the activity of these centres. Learning about them can offer deep insight into our own behaviour and our struggles and suffering, starting the process of liberation and awakening.
