Jonas was born in Australia and was traveling in Asia until he was five years old. Living in countries like Nepal and living with the people, he found a spiritual connection early in his life. Being an open and playful kid, growing up his energy started to feel ungrounded.. He missed the root of life, which resulted in an excessive lifestyle where he couldn’t find the connection with himself anymore. Nine years ago he was ready to change, ready to let go of his old lifestyle. He started practicing yoga and meditation. With the help of his teachers his inner world started to change and he started to feel the ground under his feet again. In a gentle and loving way he opened up to life. It is simply this gift that he received, that he wants to share with others.
Jonas believes that yoga should be for every-body. He is trained to find a pose that is perfect for your body, no matter how flexible or inflexible you are. Yoga is not a series of postures that we execute, but rather exploring the possibilities of how to open, stretch and stimulate your body.
With his Yin classes he gives you the time and space to bring awareness to to the areas that deserve some attention. This is different for everybody, as every person comes to the practice with different intentions and motivations. He finds that the body is a very accessible way to work on yourself. The Yang side in his practice is about slow strengthening movements. With both, yin and yang he aims to harmonize the chi in the body. He believes we can only be truly happy when we find harmony in body and mind.
