Erica Jago
hatha Astanga Led yoga
Combining storytelling, emotionally connected classes, visionary art and framed nature, her way of teaching inspires inner knowing, interconnectedness and spiritual care. Erica's Yoga journey began in San Francisco in 2003 where she would practice during lunch hour while working in corporate. At the time Yoga Tree in the Castro District was "the school.” Over 100 yogis would attend classes with only an inch in-between mats. This intimidated Erica and almost prevented her from signing up for the 200 hr training until her parents told her: “GO! We see you suffering at your corporate job and all you talk about is Yoga - go find your higher purpose!” And so she did. Erica teaches Restorative Yoga; a luxurious practise that uses props, blocks, and bolsters to fully support you in postures held somewhere between 5 to 20 minutes, Kundalini & Mantra Meditation; a well-balanced flow of artful sequencing, breathing exercises (Pranayama), spinal strengthening (Kriyas), and Mantra Meditations (chanting) to facilitate an emotionally connected practice designed to reduce stress and spark creativity, Prenatal Vinyasa; with her own daughter born in 2018, she holds space and builds mental and spiritual confidence for mothers to be and Hatha; exploring a different spiritual theme each class and learning to flow through each physical and emotional challenge with awareness and understanding. We are here to learn to live well. - Richard Rudd
