After moving from Germany to Amsterdam for love and music at the turn of the century, Katrin took her first yoga class – which turned out to be a life changing experience. Yoga has made her life richer and more beautiful.
She has found her teacher in Anat Geiger, and followed various teacher-training programmes under her guidance: Yoga Garden ‘In Depth’ teacher training in 2010/2011, and Yin Yoga in 2011/2012. Meanwhile Katrin has become involved in these programs as an assistant and voice coach. Anat’s teaching still forms an inexhaustible source of knowledge and inspiration to her.
When she first got in contact with Yin Yoga, Katrin fell in love with this special,
quiet practice:
‘Yoga has helped me become better friends with my body. I soon found that the effect of my practice could go much deeper. I learned to regard myself and others more lovingly. To be ‘here-now’ more often, without distraction, judgement or comment. To soften my heart again and again, also in moments of pain or discomfort. And especially to maintain a sense of humour, both on my yoga mat and in the middle of chaos in daily life. This experience I love to share in my classes.’
