Explorative and adventurous by nature, Sterre’s surfy soul has brought her to many exotic places, yet never to India. Delving deeper into yoga and meditation for about a decennium, made a pilgrimage inevitable. In 2018 she took off, roamed around, visited magical and significant places and deepened her practice at retreats.
She keeps these experiences alive in her classes. In her career, Sterre is driven to continuously develop herself and support other people’s growth. This is reflected in her yoga- and Mindfulness classes and in her work as a counselling psychologist. Sterre aims to bring joy and health by helping people improve their sense of peace and wellbeing. You might get inspired by ancient philosophy, mantra and receive hands-on adjustments in her classes and get infected by her bright vibe.
In her mid-twenties in Australia Sterre truly discovered Yoga. It felt as if everything came together for her. The bodily awareness of her background in dance, the playfulness of her previous gymnastics, the strength and focus of surfing and her spiritual view on life. The practice offered her physical healing and a certain lightness and flow.
Back in The Netherlands Sterre started taking regular yoga classes in Amsterdam to deal with stress from a demanding job. She learned that breathing exercises are essential in finding balance and yoga became her foundation. It was her teacher Karin Al that got Sterre into teaching in 2011. This was the start of a joyful journey of sharing Yoga.
