Satya is a yogini in heart and soul. She has in-depth knowledge of Vipassana and Mindfulness meditation, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Yin and yoga as a way of life.
Her friendly personality, contagious enthusiasm and warm heart inspire her students to get the best out of themselves.
Kevin is a dedicated yoga practitioner who has been studying and practising yoga for 30 years. His approach to teaching is eclectic and draws from many different methods and teachings to help students align their lives towards awakening.
His focus is to offer the right method for the individual according to their needs and aspirations.
About The Mind Retreat
This retreat is a silent 100-hour training where we will investigate the Mind as true scientists within our own laboratory. The philosophical ground of practice will be based on non-dual practices, Buddhism, and Tantra.
Yoga - since its creation - has always been taught in a one-on-one setting. The teacher will assess the needs, aspirations, and constitution of the student and give them the personal practice that will connect them to their innermost truth. This innermost truth of the individual is unique to that person, and each person’s yoga practice will, ultimately, be an individual practice, guided closely by authentic teachers and teachings.
In The Mind retreat, you will have the opportunity to deepen into the yoga that is most suited to your individual needs and will give you the foundational ground, connection, and steadiness to become a living yogi or yogini.
During this retreat, Satya and Sahaj will draw from several wisdom traditions to offer you 100 hours of practices ranging from asana, pranayama, meditation, healing, Tantra to Buddhism, self-inquiry, and dharma.
This retreat presents the subtlest part of the practices, where we investigate the Mind following, as a basis, non-dual practices, Buddhism, and Tantra. We will take the foundation of mindfulness practice and go deeper into meditation techniques that will firmly establish you in your awareness and presence.
This is the root and beginning of seeing the greater purpose that is guiding our lives. We become aware that our lives as yoga teachers are a gift of service towards others. This goes beyond our own self-interest. Deep-seated unconscious emotional patterns and areas of unclarity in the mind must be illuminated and purified to go into the real next level of awakening. Clearing the energy body’s chakras and pathways to open the mind will create the conditions for deep self-inquiry in this retreat.
Therefore, this period is for ripening and going deeper. All practices before this are merely a preparation, a cleansing of the temple of body and mind to make space for the opening of our true nature. Here the true yogi starts to be born.
Through the deep immersion in the teachings of these very gifted and experienced teachers, you will come out as a different person, with a clearer understanding of yourself, your practice and your dharma - this retreat will literally open your heart and blow your mind away.
Typical Daily Schedule
D'Alijo Yoga Retreat Center
D’Alijo Yoga Retreats Center is a yoga retreat in the midst of beautiful Portuguese nature. It sprawls across three hectares of land consisting of terraces, olive fields and hills with large rock formations.
The accommodation consists of wooden chalet-style houses, cabins or rooms which are tastefully decorated, positioned in rural parts of the grounds at walking distance from Yoga Studio, swimming pool and the main house. All rooms have outside verandas.
The main house which was rebuilt with huge granite rocks from centuries ago is now the cosy “heart” of the retreat centre. Surrounded by large terraces and undisturbed views of the area and premises. It offers 5 guest rooms. The centre offers a heated swimming pool, water features, and a peaceful meditation cave and the surroundings invite tranquil walks.
D'Alijo Retreat Center is located 1 hour away from Porto International Airport. Transfers from/to the airport can be arranged on request.
The Mind Retreat starts on 9 August and finishes on 18 August 2022. Transfer between Porto (OPO) Airport and the retreat location by car takes 1 hour. On 9 August, check-in is open as of 12.00 hrs and the program starts around 15.00 hrs. On 18 August, the program will end after a morning self-practice.
We advise not to arrive after the retreat has started, or to depart before it has ended, as this would mean missing important parts of the program. The transfer from the retreat centre to the airport OPO leaves 3 hours before the flight departure time.
Recommended flights, if flying from Amsterdam (AMS): will follow once flight schedules are published. Please book your (highly recommended: flexible) flights as soon as possible and send us your travel details to arrange shared pick-up.
The remainder (teaching fees minus deposit + accommodation) is payable by 30 April (Early Bird) or 8 July 2022 (Regular), depending on the chosen payment option.
Please note that due to Dutch tax legislation (reisbureauregeling), there will be no VAT deductible from the invoice.
Camping at the retreat location / external accommodation is not possible, unfortunately. It is not possible to arrive earlier or stay longer after the retreat. In case of following several programs, extra nights can be booked directly at D'Alijo Yoga Retreat Center by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, for a 40% discount on room rate, including two meals (instead of three during the events).
Once you have booked your spot in the retreat using the link below, we will get in touch with you via email to discuss accommodation requirements (please indicate in case you snore/have frequent nightmares). You will then receive payment instructions for these accommodation fees, depending on the room of your choice.
Not included in the above fees are books, travel costs to- and- from the retreat centre, travel insurance (highly recommended), local tourist tax.

- 2 years of regular yogic practices including asana
- Have regular meditation experience of about 2 years (Shamata or Vipassana)
- A motivation letter why you want to take part in this retreat
- To be emotionally stable (see note below on Health & Well-Being)

Do you want to refresh the practices of The Mind Retreat? We also offer "Meeting the Mind: A 3-day Online Program" to explore and investigate the Mind and (refresh) different meditation techniques. Former students of The Mind Retreat will receive an exclusive discount for this program.
