Anne Vida Ikeda
Anne Vida Ikeda
Amsterdam, De Clercqstraat
Anne initially began practicing yoga to relieve stress and balance her hectic professional life back home in Montreal, Canada. Yoga has since become her journey that would impact every facet of her life, inspiring her to learn presence, patience, compassion, self-love and much more. Now making Amsterdam her home, Anne teaches a variety of classes including Vinyasa flow, Hatha, Yin/Yang and Yin yoga. As a life-long yoga student, her classes are inspired by her continuous studies of Ayurveda, Chakra energy system, Yoga philosophy, Chinese medicine concepts and Meridian lines, Mindfulness and Thai yoga massage. She believes that yoga is about the connection of mind & body and that what lies behind the asana, is pure awareness. In the exploration of yoga and meditation, she is convinced that accepting the challenges of life requires an open heart, a keen awareness and a flexibility of mind. With this approach, she shares her classes with her students, as a journey to mindful living. Inspired by Ayurveda and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) theories, and with a nourishing, calming and light-spirited touch, Anne leads students into practices that are genuine and empowering. Her classes range from deepening and meditative yin practices to energizing and strengthening yang practices. Anne’s aim is to create a supportive environment for students to explore their own bodies & minds and to discover a sense of liberation and creativity. Her goal is for students to leave class feeling empowered yet serene, refreshed, happy and inspired.
Dennis Laubenthal
Dennis Laubenthal
Amsterdam, De Clercqstraat
Dennis was born in Koblenz, Germany and started out as an actor for theatre and TV. To find some balance in his busy lifestyle he took his first Yoga class in a gym. He did not yet have any idea about the impact of this first encounter, but from then on, he started to enter the world of yoga. In the beginning, he focused more on the powerful Vinyasa style, but then, after spending some time in a Sivananda ashram, he discovered the quality of mindful awareness which finally brought him to Iyengar yoga, which he enjoyed for its good alignment. So, in Dennis’ classes, you will discover a little bit of all these aspects: Some flowing movements combined with alignment “tricks” and a bit of philosophy. Dennis is also fascinated by the practice of Pranayama, which is way more than simply breathing techniques. He taught workshops about this “life force” called Prana in Germany and Amsterdam. Since he visited a Buddhist monastery in Sri Lanka, he is discovering the field of meditation which is a perfect match to the yoga practice, stressing also on the moral behaviour among human beings. Dennis teaches on eye level with the student, encouraging them to make their own experiences rather than just believe. Some classes can be joyful, some classes more focused, but a class without any laughter is not a good class. “Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured.” BKS Iyengar
Nancy Reyerts
Nancy Reyerts
Amsterdam, De Clercqstraat
Travelling by sailing boat across the oceans for over 10 years made Nancy see the effects that external world has on the mind. Being in complete focus, acceptance and calmness when at sea and unrest and distractions when returning to land. This created a awareness that needed further exploring. After returning to Amsterdam yoga became the path and the tool to explore the depths of body and mind. Yoga gives Nancy new energy daily and simultaneously the focus and calmness to contain this energy. It enables you to stay active and quiet in everything you do. Iyengar yoga with its focus on alignment, integration and therapeutic use ignited the spark that has lead Nancy ever since. Exploring different yoga styles has brought her a broad experience in own practice and in her teaching. Always ready to learn more, Nancy has travelled to India in 2016 and 2018 for several months to further her understanding of yoga. Nancy is a lively, energetic, caring and attentive teacher. She has completed the 3 year Iyengar teacher training program in 2013 and has been teaching ever since. In her classes she brings the energy and joy that her yoga practice has brought her. Guiding the students safely toward the benefits that yoga brings, allowing each student to develop in its own unique way.
Dylan (Simon Alexander) Hendrix
Dylan (Simon Alexander) Hendrix
Amsterdam, Weteringschans
Since a young age, Dylan has always been fascinated with life’s great questions; his own life journey has given him an unusual eye for the beauty and interconnectedness of life and made him sensitive to the human condition. This has led him on an interesting journey of deepening his understanding of human behaviour and spirituality through studying psychology, yoga practices, various spiritual texts and seeking out guidance from various teachers around the world: Integrating and applying Eastern and Western systems of healing and processes. As a spiritual pilgrim, he has been fortunate to meet many wonderful souls who have inspired and deepened his own practice and shaped his style of teaching. Beyond asana, yoga is a way of life that enables him to continue to reflect, to feel and be present. Dylan was introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga when he turned 30 and instantly fell in love with the method as a meditation in movement; a medicine for his body and mind and it has since become one of his main Sadhana. He has always been interested in understanding the interplay between the gross and subtle aspects of the body/mind and feels with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method, we can learn to understand and harness the energy of these two polarities to find stability and grace – on and off the mat. Since his first class, Dylan has been captivated by the therapeutic aspects of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga and approaches his classes from this viewpoint – to help students find their strength and balance in a safe space, whilst connecting to and integrating with the power of the breath and observing/understanding the patterns of the mind. A Powerful tool and practice which invites and supports Dylan and his students to find space beyond the veil of the conceptual mind. An invitation to stillness and inner peace. Dylan has been fortunate to cross paths with many prominent teachers who have influenced and helped shape his style of teaching and continues to journey and learn from/with John Scott, Govinda Kai & Petri Raisanen. Dylan started practicing healing at a young age when he started to realize that he was able to channel energy. He started meditation practice at a young age and felt the power and magnitude of stillness as a source of healing and connection to the universe.By the “not so little coincidences” in life, Dylan was introduced to Jose Antonio Manchado and instantly resonated with his style of teaching and way of being and is deeply grateful to be a student and learn from his guidance, Reiki and Shindo – path of the vibrational healing practice. Currently Dylan has published his first book, Art of the Storm, which was recently released October 19th 2017. His book brings together a collection of poems, short stories and reflections inspired from meditation, being in nature and yoga. Dylan is working on several other books and projects currently. Giving gratitude to all his teachers, Dylan hopes to share his passion and love of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Yogic Philosophy, Meditation and Healing practices to continue to inspire others on the path of healing

Brenda is a happy spirited yogi, who loves traveling, dancing with her two kids, Singing very out of tune in private and occasionally goes overboard on eating chocolate. Besides exploring new things she teaches Vinyasa, Hatha and Restorative Yoga. She has been teaching yoga since 2014. After a long search trying to figure out what made her truly happy, a trip to India and Nepal in 2011 ignited her passion and started her yogic journey. 'It was the start of a new direction in my life’. 'After deepening her practice back home in Amsterdam and later on being accepted in a yoga teacher training on Gili Meno with Zuna Yoga, it was as if all the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. “ After our first day of training I felt like I came home to a place for which I had longed without knowing what that home looked like. 'And it felt like this was the start of a new direction in my life’. Learning to listen to and trusting her heart & intuition changed the game and turned her world upside down. 'The only way out is in' became her new way of life. Through movement, meditation, reflection and stillness this catapulted her unto the still unpaved path in a whole new direction. Right now Brenda has had the pleasure of sharing yoga in her hometown of Amsterdam for over 7 years. Brenda's classes classes are both dynamic and soft. Chantal Soeters
Chantal Soeters
Amsterdam, Nieuwe Achtergracht / Den Haag, Scheveningseweg
"Our true home is in the present moment. To live in the present moment is a miracle." – Thich Nhat Hanh. Chantal did not intend to become a Yoga teacher, but when she was suffering from severe nerve pain and began practising Yoga daily, it literally changed her life. Yoga helped her to find freedom, joy, and strength when nothing else seemed to work. Since then, she developed a special interest in the therapeutic application of yoga and the natural self-healing properties of the body. It's through her journey of dealing with pain and what later turned to be a chronic neurological illness that she found her purpose in life: helping others to find, accept and embrace who they truly are. She left a corporate career behind to dedicate herself fully to helping others find freedom within themselves in spite of life's challenges. Chantal loves teaching and helping others to connect with the truth of who they are. She sees Yoga as a path towards self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-expansion. In her classes, she creates a space where people feel safe, seen, challenged, and empowered. In her teaching, she emphasises the importance of being present and honouring where you are on your Yoga journey, while simultaneously encouraging you to get curious, open up to new experiences, and expand who you think you are. Her teaching style is positive, precise, and accessible. She teaches her students to come back to being in their bodies and to let go of their ‘armour’, in order to reconnect to their playful, messy, brave, vulnerable and 'perfectly imperfect' human side.
