Restorative Yoga Training

(35-hour) with Adelene Cheong

To ‘rest’, to ‘relax’ and to ‘restore’ is a natural vital process in our lives. Rest supports optimal physiological functioning, and promotes healing and growth. During rest, one’s autonomic nervous system switches from sympathetic-dominance to parasympathetic-dominance, regeneration and restoration is accelerated. Research has shown that relaxation and rest is essential to everyone of all ages and culture, size and shape.

"This course was exceptional. The level of detail and knowledge was outstanding. The structure and delivery was very well thought out. There was depth and substance in terms of facilitating a well-rounded learning experience for students. There was a perfect balance between a humanistic, person-centred developmental learning experience and the experience of building on knowledge, learning new skills and refining our craft as a Restorative yoga teacher. Adelene is an exceptional teacher and a beautiful person. I am deeply grateful and will attend more of her trainings. " - Past participant on training

About the teacher

Adelene Cheong
A practitioner, a student, a teacher and trainer of yoga... Adelene feels blessed to be on this path with many who seek love, peace and stillness. Through yoga, Adelene reconnects to being truly integrated in life and all it has to offer. Having been diagnosed with a progressive S-curve scoliosis at age 13, some physical activities were limited within, and outside school. She was not very active in her growing up years, and experienced chronic back pain, which was possibly exacerbated by increasingly sedentary when she started college. When she was told that she may be confined to using a wheelchair should the condition deteriorate, and may have to be bed-ridden for the second half of pregnancy should she become pregnant, life ahead seemed bleak and painful. It was emotionally and mentally devastating.
